 Full-time midwifery opportunity at Ponderosa Midwives in Kelowna, BC.  We are seeking a new team member for December 2026, with potential for an earlier start date. Join us in the heart of the Okanagan!

We are hoping to attract new long-term midwives to the Ponderosa Team. The position will begin as a locum opportunity (minimum 6 months to 1 year)  with the goal of joining us long-term.

We are a cohesive team of 2-3 midwives who work in a team-based model. We have an amazing MOA, who does an excellent job of supporting our team. We also have a clinical billing specialist who manages our MSP billings and reconcilliations. We use Oscar for electronic medical records and aspire to minimize our environmental footprint. 

Our practice operates out of a beautiful clinic space close to the hospital, hiking and biking trails, and downtown Kelowna.  Our bright & welcoming clinic space offers one comfortable clinic room, an office and an additional space for assessments and resources. We aim to facilitate homebirth whenever possible. Our clinic is close to ( less than 3km) Kelowna General Hospital, which is a level 2 facility. Our interprofessional relationships are strong, including very supportive obstetric, pediatric and nursing colleagues. We pride ourselves on having supportive and strong working relationships in the local maternity community.

The successful applicant will ideally work in a full-time capacity in a team structure. We are committed to flexibility, and look forward to discussing a work schedule that best supports both our work-life balance while meeting the needs of our client caseload.

Our practice operates as a cost-share agreement, and we pride ourselves on maintaining an affordable and fully equipped clinic. This cost-share agreement is available to the successful applicant who wishes to stay on long-term with our practice.  Long-term positions offer up to 2 months of holiday per year, and regular off-call time is negotiated.
